APV's Spray Cements are used as a process aid in tire production and rubber manufacturing. They provide a bond between a buffed tire casing and a new tire tread. Typically, our spray cements are used in individual retread shops, but can also be applied to other cured rubber materials, including sheet rubber. APV Spray Cements are fully curable, and have been proven to reduce tire defects and waste.
Additionally, APV has formulated an impressive array of water-based cements to replace the traditional solvent-based ones currently on the market. These cements will become increasingly important as tighter government regulations restrict the use of solvent-based products, which emit environmentally damaging volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
When using APV's water-based cements, it is critical to remember that the quantity used is much less than the solvent-based version. This difference alone provides tremendous cost savings for the consumer - which, coupled with excellent adhesion, no VOCs, and no health or fire hazard makes using the water-based version of our cement an excellent choice.
