APV Dot Markers are used primarily for process verification, to mark product installation points, and pass/fail marks. On a tire plant assembly line, as cured tires pass on a conveyor belt, they are marked with a dot. These dots are used to determine the high point of a tire, thereby allowing rim assembly plants optimum synchronization when mounting the tire.
The ink of these dot markers was formulated to evaporate quickly. Each marker produces approximately 5000 dots and are available in 3 sizes: small, standard and extra large.
Important - Shake the dot marker thoroughly before use. The gentlest pressure will provide a round dot, while heavier pressure produces a wider dot. Do not try to write with them or the tip may loosen and too much ink will be used. If dot markers are installed in a balancing/uniformity machine, a water-based marker is preferred because solvent-based marker tips may dry up.
