NeverFade® Metal Façade Restoration Coatings Win Top New Product Award From National Publisher

School Planning & Management and College Planning & Management Magazines Select NeverFade® for its Ability to Enhance the Learning Environment

AKRON, Ohio (12/22/17) — An independent panel of judges from the education industry selected NeverFade® Façade Restoration Coatings from APV Engineered Coatings as a Platinum Award winner in the annual New Product Award program from 1105 Media, publishers of School Planning & Management and College Planning & Management magazines. The coating system completely restores building façades to a high-performance, factory-like finish.

The New Product Award program honors the outstanding product development achievements of manufacturers and suppliers whose products or services are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to enhance the learning environment. NeverFade® Façade Restoration Coatings are featured along with other award winners in the December issue of both magazines as well as highlighted on the publisher’s website, spaces4learning.com.

According to the magazines’ Group Publisher, Karen Cavallo, “Research shows that there is a direct correlation between quality learning environments and improved student success, and these companies are leading the charge to make schools a better place for teachers to teach and students to learn.”

“We are honored that NeverFade® Façade Restoration Coatings stood out from among more than 50 products as a trusted solution,” said Mike Couchie, VP of Sales, APV Engineered Coatings. “We’re excited to show school administrators, maintenance directors and facility managers how to save money over time and sustainably extend the life of their building exteriors with NeverFade® Coatings.”

    About NeverFade® Exterior Coatings

NeverFade® Exterior Coatings are a line of water-based, low-VOC coatings that uniquely restore and protect building exteriors with its long-term performance. The products are formulated with Kynar Aquatec®, a tough and industry-proven PVDF resin that resists thermal, chemical and ultraviolet degradation. Incorporated into the NeverFade® coating technology and coupled with high performance additives and specialty grade inorganic pigments, Kynar Aquatec® is highly resistant to color fading, dirt pickup, staining, algae, mold, fungal growth and erosion. Applied with the compatible primer systems offered by APV, the NeverFade® coating system can protect against rust, corrosion, and efflorescence, as well as promote long-term adhesion to the building surface. The topcoats are custom-color matched to each customer’s specification in bold and rich colors and come with a 15-year product-and-labor warranty for color performance.

“This warranty is unique to the architectural coatings industry,” said Couchie. “It offers more than other warranties because we wanted to show just how much we stand behind the coating. Although we warrant the color performance for 15 years, the Kynar® technology has been performing for over 50 years in harsh UV-prone environments without requiring re-coating.”

The new NeverFade® Façade Restoration Topcoat supplements the industry-proven NeverFade® Original Topcoat which is for concrete, stucco, masonry, fiber cement, composite materials and vinyl building exteriors. Like the original, it is water-based and meets SCAQMD Rule 1113 VOC limits in Southern California for industrial maintenance coatings, with less than 100 grams/liter of VOCs. NeverFade® Metal Façade Restoration Topcoat can be used with APV’s complementary W-1650 Bonding Primer for previously coated surfaces, such as Kynar 500® or silicon polyester finishes, as well as APV’s W-1500 Universal Primer for a variety of substrates. The primers contain less than 50 grams/liter of VOCs, meeting SCAQMC Rule 1113 VOC limits for Southern California. The water-based topcoat also can be used with APV’s two-component corrosion resistant epoxy primer for extreme, corrosive weather environments. This product contains VOC exempt solvents to comply with SCAQMC Rule 1113 VOC limits.
