Meet the Experts

Michael Couchie has decades of experience at APV Engineered Coatings guiding new product development, sales, and marketing.

Jarrod Wise, Chemical Engineer at APV Engineered Coatings, received his degree from the University of Akron in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in polymer engineering. Jarrod plays a major role in research as well as the commercialization of prototype developments from design to scale up stages.

Kristi Ferrato is a Development Chemist at APV. Her current work focuses on environmentally friendly clear coats, and rubber inks. Prior to APV she spent 5+ years working in rubber compounding. Born and raised in Akron, Kristi received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering as a Buckingham/Orr Scholar at the University of Akron.

Greg Marty, Development Chemist, has over 40 years of experience in the coatings industry.  In his early years, he was formally trained at a printing ink company called Thiele-Engdahl, where he progressed from lab technician to plant manager.

The Late, Mr. Hugh Barrett, was a well-respected technical consultant with APV Engineered Coatings from 2002 to 2021. He had a vast chemical engineering background and was instrumental to the company in formulating for unique coating challenges.
